Welcome to my world! I have "too many interests" and it's always been like that. This is a blog about life in "Jenaland"

About Me
I’m Jena; a desert-dwelling mom and hesitant homeschooler, simultaneously advancing my personal studies online, part-time. I have too many interests and it’s always been like that. Throughout my life, others have often asked me (usually with a blend of humor and curiosity)… “So how are things in Jena-Land?” Perhaps I’m a little multifarious, idealistic and nonconformist. Growing up I loved and wanted to be Pippi Longstocking, and a racecar driver, and an astronaut, and a fashion designer; among other things. In college, I studied business because I figured it had broad application. But I quickly transitioned into pre-medicine/pre-pharmacy and kept things interesting with minor electives in fine art photography and philosophy while working full-time in the pharmaceutical industry for nearly a decade. Eventually, I got married and later became a work-at-home mom. I have certifications in aromatherapy, herbalism, holistic nutrition, yoga, life coaching, and hypnotherapy. I’m a licensed aesthetician and holistic wellness practitioner, as well as, a DIY enthusiast. I enjoy culture, art, design, photography, sports, politics, fashion, creating, adventure, travel, business, scouting, geocaching, exploring, volunteering, philanthropy, gardening, reading, research, health, wellness and –> blogging. You can learn more about the evolution of this adventure –> here. In summary, it just makes sense, having a space to share and organize ALL these interests in one place and it will be fun connecting and collaborating with others. Enough about me, I’d love to hear more about you!

Fifty reasons why I’m excited to be 50!
July is here and 2018 has reached the 50% mark. Half the year is behind me, and half is still on the horizon. It struck me that this is also how I am feeling about life. It's possibly wishful thinking to believe I will live to 100, but it is my goal. And now that I'm...
